Panic PIN
for Panic Mode!

Nigeria's first 4-PIN duress protection system.

One-chance robberies. Stolen phones. Coerced transfers. Panic PIN is the layer Nigerian banking has always needed — a second, decoy login that opens a stripped-down version of your account, silently alerts your emergency contact, and quietly flags Owoche compliance. The thief gets a thin wallet. You get out alive.

01

Decoy balance

Your panic PIN unlocks a wallet capped at a small amount you set. The real balance stays invisible.

02

Silent alert

An SMS goes to your emergency contact and a flag fires inside Owoche's compliance dashboard — no UI tells.

Owoche Panic PIN explainer — when it helps: pressured to log in, forced to send money, phone temporarily held
03

No setup-time tells

Both PINs are set at onboarding. Nothing on the phone reveals which is real, even if someone is watching you type.

04

1-hour removal cooldown

Removing a panic PIN takes time — long enough for help to arrive, short enough to feel reasonable when you're safe.

Questions

Things people ask before downloading.

Is Owoche really regulated?
Owoche is built on infrastructure aligned with the Central Bank of Nigeria's guidelines for mobile money operations and the NDPR for personal data. We use licensed payment partners for collections and payouts, and KYC tiers mirror the CBN's Tier-1 / Tier-2 / Tier-3 framework.
What's actually different about Panic PIN?
A panic PIN is a second login that opens a stripped-down version of your account with a small balance you set. It silently alerts your emergency contact and Owoche compliance, with no UI tells. It's the first system of its kind in Nigerian fintech and exists specifically for one-chance robberies, coercion, and stolen-phone scenarios.
How is "Borrow Me" different from a loan?
Borrow Me covers the shortfall when you're trying to buy something — airtime, data, a bill — but don't have enough in your wallet. We pay the biller; you owe Owoche. It's service-based credit, not a cash loan, and it doesn't show up as debt anywhere outside the app.
Can I send to a non-Owoche user?
Yes. Send to any Nigerian bank account in seconds — GTB, Access, UBA, OPay, Kuda, you name it. Owoche-to-Owoche transfers are free; bank transfers carry a small, capped fee shown before you confirm.
Is bonus balance the same as real money?
Almost. Bonus balance (cashback, referrals, rewards) is real Naira you can spend on airtime, data and bills — it just can't be withdrawn or transferred. That's what keeps the rewards programme sustainable.
What if I lose my phone?
Sign in on a new device — Owoche treats it as new and challenges you with extra checks. Your old session is invalidated. If you'd already set a Panic PIN, that's still in place too. Contact support@owoche.online any time if anything looks wrong.
