What is Owoche?

Money has moments.

It's the school fees that say, "I believe in your future." It's the birthday gift that says, "I remembered." It's the transfer that says, "I'm here." It's the security that lets your family sleep peacefully.

Money was never just money.

That's the Owoche way.

Why we exist

Every transaction begins with a person.

A warm family moment

Every day, people use money to care for someone. To support. To celebrate. To protect. To dream.

But somewhere along the way, money became numbers. Balances. Buttons. Receipts.

We built Owoche because we believe money deserves to feel human again.

Behind every transfer is a person.

Our belief

Three things we hold true.

Protect what matters

Safety should come before convenience — always.

Celebrate every moment

A transfer can be more than money. It can be a memory.

Protect what matters

Money should never become another thing to worry about.

A person looking calm and secure
Nigeria's first Panic PIN

Life isn't always predictable. Sometimes safety matters more than convenience.

Panic PIN is a second PIN that opens a calm, limited version of your account with a balance you choose — and silently alerts your emergency contact and our team. No tells. No drama.

Built for the moments no one likes to imagine: a one-chance robbery, a coerced transfer, a stolen phone. So your money can still look after you when things feel risky.

Celebrate every moment

Some gifts are remembered for what's inside. Others, for how they arrived.

A birthday. A graduation. A thank you. A wedding. Money can be part of life's most meaningful moments.

SmartAza turns a transfer into something people remember — wrapped, personal, and delivered like a gift instead of a receipt.

Owoche Moments

Every wallet has a story. Owoche remembers yours.

A woman quietly moved by a message on her birthday
The app that remembers you

Tell Owoche the days that matter — a birthday, a graduation, the day you lost someone you love. On those days, Owoche shows up: a message, a beautiful card, sometimes a small gift. On the hard days, no confetti — just a quiet word, so you're not carrying it alone.

Technology remembers transactions. Owoche remembers people — because behind every balance is a life.

Everyday money

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Paying at a café

Most days, money isn't dramatic. It's lunch. Fuel. Electricity. School runs. Business.

Owoche quietly helps life keep moving — in the background, when you need it, without getting in the way.

Built for home

Finance should sound like home.

A mother smiling

We weren't built by translating someone else's product. We started with the lives we know — our families, our communities, our celebrations, our realities.

That's why Owoche feels familiar. Because it was imagined here.

Bank-grade encryption, device checks, and Nigeria's first Panic PIN duress system.

Every fee is shown before you confirm. No surprises, no hidden charges.

Reliability

Built on a double-entry ledger so every naira is accounted for, every time.

The thinking behind Owoche

Not just an app — a philosophy.

Questions

Things people ask before downloading.

Philosophy

Why does Owoche focus so much on people?
Because behind every balance is a person, and behind every transfer is a reason — school fees, rent, a birthday, an emergency. We believe financial technology should understand the life behind the money, not just move it.
What actually makes Owoche different?
Most apps compete on features. We start with feelings. We ask one question of everything we build — how does this make someone's life better? If it doesn't protect people, strengthen relationships, or make everyday life simpler, it doesn't ship.
Why did you build Panic PIN?
Because safety is a human right, not a feature. In a one-chance robbery or a coerced transfer, convenience isn't what matters — protection is. Panic PIN exists for the moments no one likes to imagine, so your money can still look after you when things feel risky.
What inspired SmartAza?
A transfer shouldn't always feel like paperwork. Sometimes it should feel like a gift. SmartAza turns money into a moment — for birthdays, weddings, a thank you — so people remember not just what they received, but how it made them feel.

Everyday Use

How do I create an account?
Download Owoche from the App Store or Google Play, sign up with your phone number, and set your login and transaction PINs. Verifying your BVN unlocks higher limits and more features.
Can I send to a non-Owoche user?
Yes — send to any Nigerian bank account in seconds; GTB, Access, UBA, OPay, Kuda, and more. Owoche-to-Owoche transfers are free; bank transfers carry a small, capped fee shown before you confirm.
Can I pay bills and buy airtime?
Airtime, data, electricity, TV, and more — all from your wallet, with cashback on eligible bills.
How is "Borrow Me" different from a loan?
Borrow Me covers the shortfall when you're buying something — airtime, data, a bill — but don't have enough in your wallet. We pay the biller; you repay Owoche. It's service-based credit, not a cash loan.

Security

How secure is Owoche?
Your connection is encrypted end to end, new devices are challenged with extra checks, and every transaction runs through a double-entry ledger so nothing is ever lost or duplicated. Security comes before convenience — always.
How does Panic PIN work?
You set a second PIN. Entering it opens a calm, limited version of your account with a small balance you choose, and silently alerts your emergency contact and our compliance team — with no visible tells. It's the first system of its kind in Nigerian fintech.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Sign in on a new device and Owoche treats it as new, challenging you with extra checks and invalidating the old session. If you'd set a Panic PIN, it stays in place. Email support@owoche.online any time something looks wrong.
