I forgot my login PIN. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap Forgot PIN. We'll send a one-time code to your registered phone number. Once verified, you'll set a fresh PIN. The old PIN can't be recovered — only replaced.
My transaction failed but I was debited. What happens?
For airtime, data, and bill payments, our system automatically refunds your wallet within minutes when the provider rejects the request. For bank transfers, the funds are released back to you within 24 hours if the receiving bank doesn't acknowledge them. If it's been longer than that, contact us with your transaction reference and we'll trace it manually.
How do I increase my transaction limits?
Owoche uses tiered limits aligned with the CBN's KYC framework. Tier 1 (BVN-only) covers most everyday use. Verifying your NIN and uploading a government ID upgrades you to Tier 2, which removes most caps. Open the app → More → KYC to start.
Is my money safe with Owoche?
Yes. Customer funds are held with our licensed banking partner and are not used to fund our operations. Every transaction goes through a double-entry ledger we audit daily. Your PIN is stored only as a one-way hash — even our staff cannot see it.
What is the Panic PIN?
Owoche supports a second, optional PIN you can set in Security settings. If you ever enter your Panic PIN under duress, the app shows a decoy balance and limited transaction history while silently flagging the session — so a thief cannot tell anything is wrong, but you stay safe. The real account is restored when you sign in normally on a trusted device.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → More → Settings → Delete account. We'll immediately disable sign-in, then permanently remove your data after the 5-year AML retention window required by Nigerian law (transaction records only — your name, photo, and contact details are removed within 30 days).
I'm getting "We don't recognise this device" — what does that mean?
Owoche tracks the devices you sign in from. The first time you sign in on a new phone, we send an SMS code to confirm it's really you. After that, the device is trusted until you uninstall the app or explicitly remove it from Settings → Devices.
